the play by play is on it's way, but for tonight i must sleep. but here, my friends, after much ado and trouble shooting ad nauseum, are the photos from my trip to los angeles.

people will look at you strange at first. i'm not sure why. you're just ordering a beer on an airplane. it's one beer. but they glare at you as if you're some sort of lush. as if you can't wait three and a half hours to have another beer.

but then the beer arrives and their scornful glares turn into jealous salivatory wanting. the frothy head, the chilled cascade of condesation on the exterior of the plastic airline cup. it's $4 well spent as you chase down your "extreme chedder" pretzel mix with a smooth alcoholic beverage.

i tried to read my book. i was able to knock out about 10 chapters, but i was continuously distracted by what was going on outside, 28 thousand feet below. i'm always challenged to identify my location on the 1:1 scale topographic map under my seat which may be used as a flotation device. strange and beautiful landscapes turned below. occassionally i would recognize something. the red river. palo duro canyon. monument valley. there are pictures now too. they will be here eventually.

what gives?

i've noticed it many times on many sites that i kept a regular schedule of reading. these days and weeks of no new content. and now here i am... stretching myself to post even the smallest morsels of info just so the site doesn't die. i've got tons of pictures to post; to the point that i've become overwhelmed by how long it would take me to actually put them together and up on my site. what have you missed?

i've fallen in love. perhaps the biggest reason i'm spending less time here. it's not a bad thing at all. i've never been quite so happy as i have since katie came into my life. her brothers are good friends and her parents are wonderful, fun people. some of you have been asking me if i think this is a "long-haul." i'd have to say without a doubt.

katie graduated in mid may and we had a great time celebrating her success over a long three day weekend with the family and friends. while at the reception before her graduation ceremony, i managed to snap many pictures including a couple that made it up on the mirror project.
you can see them here and here.

we were in houston for a very headley birthday and caught a ballgame at the now nameless ballpark formerly known as enron. there's pictures from this as well. perhaps someday you'll get to see them.

this past weekend, while katie flew off to miami to win first place in the national aaf student advertising competition with her pals on the smu ad team, i rode down to austin to wish her brother a happy birthday and proceeded to become very ill from lack of water and too much sun. was that a run-on?

what else?

well, this weekend i'm hopping on an air bus and kickin' it in la la land. i'll be visiting 6'6", kiehl, catherine, and many others out in los angeles for a few days as well as hooking up with katie and her parents for a day in hollywood.

there you go. it's an all-you-can-eat cheese sandwich buffet. perhaps those pictures will find their way up here soon.

perhaps.
